Jerry Dennis has traveled extensively pursuing his interest in outdoor subjects. He has contributed articles to the New York Times, Audubon, Country Journal, Sports Afield, Outdoor Life, Canoe, and The Utne Reader, among other publications. His column on unusual wildlife behavior, "The Natural Enquirer," appears in each issue of Wildlife Conservation. He is the coauthor of Canoeing Michigan Rivers and author of The Best Bicycle Tours of Eastern Canada. He lives in northern Michigan with his wife and two sons.
